Salmon Leap reunion in aid of Robinson

The Robinson Palliative Care centre in Ballymoney is to benefit from a huge charity fundraiser this weekend.

The Salmon Leap closed its doors in September 2006 after being one of the top restaurants in the area.

The establishment dates back to a time before many of us were born.

There were 35 staff who were all part of one big family with Elaine O’Neil (Kennedy) keeping a tight watch on everything .

This Friday (11th October) there will be a Salmon Leap reunion in the Bushtown Hotel in Coleraine.

The aim of the night is to bring together old friends from near and far, rekindle great memories, raise money for two local charities and to honour the late Brendan Higgins, the well-known Castlerock butcher, who always brought a smile with him to the Salmon Leap.

Doors will open on the night at 9.30.

Music will be provided by the fantastic band from Derry called Legacy who will indeed be entertaining everyone.

Admission will be £10 and tickets are available at the Village Butchers in Castlerock or by contacting Hazel on 07731438391 or Elaine O’Neil (Kennedy) on 07519449064.

Also you can pay at the door on the night.

The money raised on the night will be in aid of Coleraine Community Rescue Service and the Robinson Palliative Care in Ballymoney.

If anyone has old photographs or memorabilia, the organisers would really like to gather them together for this night.

Please email them to [email protected] or drop them into Hazel at Sainsburys in Coleraine, Elaine at the Anchorage in Portstewart or to Dominic at the Village Butchers or to any member of the Higgins family.
