Salsa every Sunday at the Bushtown

SALSA swings in to the Bushtown House Hotel.

Yes, that’s right, every Sunday the Bushtown Hotel will host Salsa classes for both beginners and intermediate dancers.

Teacher, Piret Anuus, is the founder of Dancexpress.

At the age of three, this All Ireland Salsa champion, began folk dancing. She later moved on to ballroom and Latin American dancing and studied ballet, jazz, irish dancing, hip hop, salsa, swing, argentine tango and contemporary dancing, to improve her overall skills.

Piret, who comes from Estonia, started teaching dance in Denmark in 1995 and has been teaching since then.

She has taught workshops and classes and performed in Estonia, Denmark, Holland, Spain, Portugal, Malta, Romania, Switzerland, Ukraine, and all over the UK and Ireland.

She founded Dancexpress in January 2007. Having taught previously with other dance companies, she felt the time was right to start something new. Dancexpress is dedicated to the advancement of dance in Northern Ireland. It gives people the skills to go out and enjoy themselves on the dancefloor.

Her classes run in Belfast, Donegal, Dungannon, Lisburn, Bangor and Limavady. And, now she hoping she can teach the people of Coleraine to dance.

“ We don’t limit ourselves to just one particular dance style but embrace them all, “ told Piret.

She went on: “Dance is a powerful instrument. It helps individuals to find themselves and gives them confidence. You can learn to dance the steps quickly and then start to perfect your skills.

“That was the inspiration for the name Dancexpress. The basics are easy to learn - anybody can dance, the challenging part is progressing from the beginner’s level.

Piret’s Salsa classes are held every Sunday in the Bushtown House Hotel. The Beginners class starts at 7pm, followed by the Intermediate class at 8pm . For details call 07902026514 or email [email protected]. The of each class is 5.
