Salvation Army is celebrating 1st anniversary in Limavady

LIMAVADY Salvation Army will be marking the first anniversary of work and witness in their spacious new premises in Linenhall Street with an Open Evening and Collectables Sale on Thursday, August 26 from 7pm onwards.

Hundreds of items including giftwear, plates, crystal and pictures will be on displayed with something to suit all tastes and budgets!

"We've held over a selection of quality collectable wear which has generously been donated to the charity shop throughout the year as we felt it would generate more funds for the Salvation Army if sold at a specialised event such as this," explained Captain Joan Archibald, Minister with her husband Captain Eddie at Limavady Salvation Army Community Church.

"We've many beautiful pieces with something to suit all tastes and pockets! It's also an opportunity for people to drop into our centre and view our excellent facilities here in Main Street," continued Captain Eddie.

All proceeds from the sale of collectables will go towards The Salvation Army's Annual Appeal campaign where 92p in every 1 donated goes directly towards helping people in need through the church and charities community centres and Lifehouses (the new name for social service centres for those who have found themselves homeless).

"The Salvation Army is here for everyone and we look forward to meeting many of the local community next Thursday evening,' said Captain Joan, 'It's a great chance to see what our worship hall looks like, what facilities we have available and off course make a special purchase which will help The Salvation Army continue caring for people in need," said Captain Joan.

The charity shop will also be open on the evening selling a wide selection of high quality fashion clothing, brick-a-brack, books and accessories. Tea and coffee will be served in the drop-in-centre behind the charity shop and there will be various musical items in the worship hall throughout the evening. Collectable and trade dealers would also find the evening most useful.
