Sam grabs goal for Schoolboys in Jersey

ALL the talk around Coleraine Showgrounds is about influential striker Rory Patterson, but watch out Rory, there's a young gun after your spot!

Sam Boylan (16) has just returned from international duty with the Northern Ireland Schoolboy side.

Schoolboy Manager, Bob Ramsey was impressed by the young striker, and included him in his 18-man squad that travelled to Jersey last week.

Stephen Dooley was also selected in Ramsey's squad, but didn't attend due to Coleraine's crucial semi final tie with Dungannon Swifts.

The Schoolboy team played Jersey Under 18's twice over the trip and recorded two wins our of two, to lift the annual Lynne Nicholson Memorial Trophy.

Sam proved to be a star scoring in his side's 1-0 win over the hosts in the first encounter.

The Loreto College schoolboy was on the bench for the second tie, and was unlucky not to have his name on the scoresheet.

Sam has been playing regularly with both the Reserves and the Colts, and he's proving to be an exciting young prospect.

"He's young and he's learning with every game he plays," tell Reserves boss Aaron Forgrave.

"I was delighted for him on his call up to the Schoolboy team.

"He's worked hard to get into the Reserve team, and he's done well in any of the games he's played, he's going in the right direction, and that's all we can ask for."
