Since 2003 at least two solicitors have been struck off every year across the province, although no barristers have been disbarred during the same period.

Finance Minister Sammy Wilson revealed the amount of solicitors removed from the roll in response to an Assembly Question.

He said the figures obtained by the Department from the Law Society referred to the number of solicitors

removed from the roll of solicitors by the independent Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal on grounds of

professional misconduct over the past 10 years.

Mr Wilson said The Bar Council indicated that no barristers were disbarred by it within the last 10 years.
