DUP Councillor Phil Moutray said after travelling over 900 miles a sandwich lunch wasn’t “very fitting” for the team from Iceland.

“I think a sit down meal would be more appropriate with the players from both clubs invited,” suggested Mr Moutray.

Sinn Fein’s Tommy O’Connor accused the DUP of “pulling money out of the air”, commenting that players wouldn’t want a big meal before the match.

It was decided Glenavon would be contacted to gauge whether a sit down meal would be more appropriate.
