Say hello to Davy's double!

WALK past Coleraine Town Hall and you might think you are seeing double when you see two 'Caring Caretakers'!

For the original 'Caring Caretaker', Davy Boyle, has been joined by a "Mini-Me" in the form of a little knitted version of...himself!

'Mini Davy' was knitted by local woman, Mrs Olive Hodges and he bears an uncanny resemblance to the real thing.

"I had no idea Olive was making this for me," Davy told the Times.

"I was sitting in the Town Hall once day when her husband Richard came in to me and said he was sick, sore and tired looking at me!

"Then he produced the little Davy and I realised he must have been seeing me every night when he came home from work when Olive was making him," laughed Davy.

The little figure has attracted quite a bit of attention and Davy says he will be a useful extra pair of hands to help him with this work around the Town Hall.

"He's in charge when I'm not here but he's a lot more crabbed than me," joked the Caring Caretaker who is holding a charity collection at Tesco in Ballymoney on August 6th and 7th.

Davy also still needs volunteers to help with his charity bag pack at ASDA on Saturday, August 28 from 9.30am - 6pm. Anyone who can spare a few hours to help out should contact Davy on 07881916153.

This year the Caring Caretaker is raising funds for Chest Heart and Stroke, Motor Neurone Disease, Samaritans, Age Concern, Cystic Fibrosis, the Neo-Natal Unit at Antrim Hospital and Parkinsons Disease.

The amount raised to date stands at almost 10,000 with money still to come in from the recent Jail and Bail.
