Scarva group nominated for award
THE organisers of the annual Sham Fight at Scarva have been nominated for an award celebrating their contribution to tourism in the area.
Royal Black Preceptory 1000 will deliver a presentation to judges from Co-operation Ireland this Wednesday for the chance to win a Pride of Place Award.
They will speak about the history of Scarva, the effect of the event on the community and tourism, as well as the sustainability of the event during the presentation at Scarva Orange Hall.
The group expects a decision in November this year.
