The children and the occupants of the car have been taken to the South West Acute Hospital and Altnagelvin Hospital.

A WELB spokesperson said: “Thankfully, there appears to be no major injuries. The safety and wellbeing of pupils is the WELB’s main concern and the Board continues to liaise with PSNI, Translink and both hospitals.”

The Board’s Critical Incident Response Team has been in touch with all schools involved to offer support.

Parents should contact their child’s school for further information.
