This kind of cross-curricular learning will help underline the importance of making the right lifestyle choices, as well as helping pupils understand how the skills they learn in one subject can be applied in different areas.

Work produced over the week will be on display during the health fair.

There will be a number of exhibitors offering free health checks, including the Action Cancer “Big Bus”. Their breast-screening service and MOT Health Checks focus on early protection and prevention. This should allow local people to have any niggles or worries checked out, as well as getting good advice about how to look after their future health.

To avoid delays or disappointment on the day anyone wishing to use the “Big Bus” should ring (028) 90803344 or visit www.actioncancer.org to book an appointment.
