King's Park was chosen by the Northern Ireland Amenities Council as the 'Best Kept Large School' in 2008-09 and also ‘Best Kept School’ in all categories across the SELB area in 2008-09.

All of the play areas have been upgraded during the last two years and the school is involved in a creative playground initiative being run by the SELB.

T h e school also has a full size soccer/sports field, a mini hockey pitch and a wide choice of hard play areas.
