School projects on streamline planning list

STREAMLINED planning applications in the borough include holiday apartments at Glenarm, replacement windows at St Killian’s College, Garron Tower, and continuance of approval for the Corran Integrated Primary School site.

The local council is notified weekly of applications which are considered by planners to be non-contentious. It speeds up the process as it removes the need to take every case to the council’s planning committee for consultation. Streamlined cases are those which planners intend to approve; where there is no formal request from a councillor to bring the application before Council; the application has attracted no objections; and the proposal meets all relevant planning policies and other material considerations.

The Larne lists for January feature a balcony/escape route from the roofspace of a dwelling at 11 Cairnhill Crescent, Ballygally; conversion of existing dwelling at 35-37 Toberwine Street, Glenarm, to two holiday apartments; replacement of windows to part of Block 1 at St Killian’s College; a single wind turbine, with a tower height of 35m (114ft) 462m south of 20 Newlands Road, Larne; proposed dwelling and garage on a farm at 96 Drumnagreagh Road, Larne; and continuance of existing use at Corran Integrated Primary School.
