School run mum unable to make return trip

A DISTRICT Judge told a solicitor for a Ballymoney woman, who was not present in court to face a motoring related charge because she had to drive her children to school: "I hope she has made arrangements for the collection of the children this afternoon".

Richard Wilson then banned Wilma Woods (38), of Carnany Drive, from the road for three months and fined her 200 for absence of insurance which was detected at Ballymena Road, Ballymoney, on July 31, 2009.

Nine points on the defendant’s licence will also remain in place.

A defence lawyer said his client has three children and her husband cannot currently drive because of a health related matter.

The lawyer said Woods needs the car to take her children to school and indeed said she was not presence because she was doing just that.
