The Carrickfergus-based club organises this event to show “our continued support and thanks to our Armed Forces and veterans for the sacrifices they made and continue to make, this year being more poignant with it being the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War 1”.

The run was marshalled this year by members of the Royal British Legion Riders Motorcycle Club and Quay Vipers Motorcycle Club, while a wreath was laid on behalf of the club by the Mayor of Carrickfergus, Alderman Charles Johnston, and a minute silence observed by all present.

A total of £1,190 was raised, the club added, after a very kind donation was received from the Rangers Supporting Erskine Appeal.
