This week Seaparkers were competing all over Britain and Ireland at the weekend.

In the Mussenden 10K Challenge in Castlerock, Clive Weatherhead was the first Seaparker home and 9th overall in 41:26 followed by Brendan Rice

42:15, Richard Hetherington 42:52, Aimee Weatherhead 55.03 and Susan Kane 1:10:19.

Gillian Barnhill and Gary Connolly travelled to Wicklow to take part in the Vartry Lakes Ultra. Despite challenging conditions Gillian completed the 100 mile event in 20hrs 57 mins and finished 3rd lady with a PB by approximately 2 hours 47 minutes.

Gary ran the 50k event in 5hours 58mins whilst also providing support crew for Gillian (both provisional results).

In the Omagh half marathon - provisional results - Charlie McCormick finished in 1.28.54 followed by Robert Murray 1:33:26 (PB) and Gillian

Strudwick 1:46:13. Two Seaparkers travelled to Cardiff for the IAAF/Cardiff University Half Marathon Championships. The field included some of the worlds’s best half- marathon runners including Mo Farah captaining Team GB. Neill Harper completed the course in 1:54:22 while Trevor Lamb finished in 2:04:34. In a slightly different challenge Ian Cleland competed in the NI Sprint Duathlon in Belfast comprising a 2 mile run, 10 mile cycle, 2 mile run. Ian completed the course in 1.01.
