Search launched for Carer of the Year

THE search for Falcon Holidays' Carer of the Year has been launched across Northern Ireland, and organisers are calling for nomination entries from the Newtownabbey area.

Set up to reward those who care for individuals who as a result of illness or injury can no longer carry out day-to-day tasks or care for themselves, this year’s highly-respected award is in partnership with the Stroke Association Northern Ireland.

Formerly known as Speechmatters, the Stroke Association delivers high quality, diverse services to stroke survivors, their carers and families.

The eventual winner, as well as earning the title Carer of the Year and receiving the Tyrone Crystal trophy, will win a 2,000 Falcon holiday so they can have a well-earned break and spend some time pampering themselves for a change.

The Falcon Holidays Carer of the Year award is presented annually in association with a different charity each year. Last year the award, in association with Action MS, was presented to Mrs Lynda Coulter from Templepatrick.

Those wishing to enter should send their nomination, in no more than 500 words, to Falcon Holidays ‘Carer of the Year’, Duffy Rafferty Communications, 18 Heron Road, Belfast, BT3 9LE or alternatively email their entry to [email protected]. The closing date for nominations is Monday, March 15.
