Sectarian remarks shouted

A 19-year-old man who shouted sectarian comments at police was bound over to keep the peace last Friday at Craigavon Court.

Christopher Michael Kennedy of Drumbeg admitted disorderly behaviour on June 15 last year. He was bound over in the sum of £250 for 12 months.

After leaving a nightclub in Mandeville Street, Portadown, he shouted sectarian comments to police.

Defence said this was his first appearance in an adult court. He had been at a friend’s birthday and had taken too much alcohol.

When he was put in the back of the police car he was more jovial and instead of being taken to the station he was taken home.

Kennedy has not come to police attention since.
