Secure your site equipment - police warn

POLICE are investigating the theft of a mini digger bucket and rock hammer from a site in Townhill Road area of Ballymena.

The equipment was stolen sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning (February 9-10).

Sergeant Geoff Martin said: “I would encourage site foremen and building contractors to ensure valuable equipment is either removed from the site or securely locked and stored in a safe place.

“Marking your property with an identifiable code will also lessen the chance it will be stolen as well as increasing your chance of having stolen property returned to you. For further information on making your property more secure please contact your local crime prevention officer on 0845 600 800.”

Officers investigating the incident at Townhill Road are urging anyone with any information in relation to this theft to contact them at Ballymena police station on 0845 600 8000. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
