Security alert - Nicholl urges vigilance
Ballymena Ulster Unionist Councillor Stephen Nicholl has expressed concern over the discovery of a suspicious device under a car in the Pennybridge area.
“The circumstances of this discovery suggest that this is a serious incident and fortunately this discovery has prevented death or serious injury. As a former member of the security forces checking for such a device was a daily routine and one which we hoped had been consigned to history. We all should remember that terrorism continues to exist and that vigilance remains a priority.
“I hope that in this case, should this be a viable device, that sufficient evidence is collected to allow the forces of law and order to apprehend those responsible.”
