Seeding grants for new groups

LARNE Council has awarded a total of £900 to support two newly established local groups.

Kaleidoscope NI, a group catering for the needs of children and young people with physical/learning or sensory disorders, received £400 towards new equipment.

Meanwhile, the council has given £500 to Glenarm Community Focus to help start a luncheon club. The group focuses on social activities in the Glenarm area, addressing isolation and poverty for marginalised groups of elderly and young people.

The seeding grants came from the local authority’s community relations fund.
