Seminar provides useful effective marketing advice

REPRESENTATIVES from local businesses attended the third in the most recent series of Vital Business Seminars in Larne recently.

The event, supported by Larne Borough Council and organised by LEDCOM through Larne Development Forum, took place at Willowbank Business Park. The speaker was Valerie Brown of True Channel, who talked about ‘How to grow your sales volume and value through effective marketing’.

Valerie set up her businesses 2009 and offers a range of branding and communication services to businesses. Prior to going self-employed, Valerie worked for the World Trade Centre in Belfast. She was responsible for establishing World Trade Centre Belfast Business Services to help connect international buyers and suppliers.

Before this, she worked as an economic development officer in the South Belfast Partnership, where much of her work was to establish and grow the creative industries sector.

Speaking at the seminar, chairman of Larne Development Forum, Councillor Martin Wilson said: “Effective marketing is vitally important to any business in order to generate sales opportunities in an environment where there is much competition for trade and pressures on consumer spending power due to the recession.”

The next planned free business breakfast seminar will be in Larne Town Hall on January 18, where a very popular speaker from last year, Phillip Bain of Shredbank, will speak on the subject ‘Innovating smartly, quickly and flexibly in selling, marketing and managing costs’.
