Seminar to show that 'Cash is King'

THE Council is hosting a morning seminar called 'Cash is King' at Banbridge Enterprise Centre on Wednesday 24 March 2010 for local business owners who make a profit but still struggle to manage cash flow.

Responsible for organising the seminar, Council Enterprise Development Officer, Elaine McAlinden, said: “The importance of good cash flow cannot to be undervalued particularly among small businesses. Small business owners often concern themselves with profit and loss rather than cash flow. However, cash flow is actually a better indicator for determining the health of a business.

“This informative seminar has been designed to help business owners, entrepreneurs and managers improve the financial health of their business by focusing on proper cash management. I would urge local business people to attend this seminar and get free, first hand professional advice from a highly experienced chartered accountant.”

The seminar will cover easy-to-use strategies that make every transaction profitable with an emphasis on practical applications and problem solving techniques. Participants will also learn about the key drivers of cash flow and discover how cash flow forecasting can expand a business. Other topics covered at the seminar will include factors affecting cash flow such as seasonality and poor debt management, plus the importance of having a good banking relationship.

The seminar will be delivered by Ken Jones, a partner from local accountancy firm, Jones Peters Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors. This well established local firm has offices in Banbridge and Belfast as well as international associates worldwide.

The free ‘Cash is King’ seminar will start at 9.30am and conclude at 11.30am. Places are limited and refreshments will be provided.
