Send your little 'heroes' to West Church

THERE'S a real treat in store for children in primary three to primary seven at West Presbyterian Church on Thursday, October 28, from 7-9pm.

For one night only, boys and girls will be able to enjoy a really varied programme with singing, dramas, games and a story from the Bible will be shared.

A visiting group of drummers will be along called the Lightening Drum Core who are well worth seeing.

The theme of the night will be ‘Jesus is the Light’. Explaining more about this, West Church Youth Worker, Colin Morris said: “Around Halloween, there is the theme of darkness with witches and vampires, the trick-side of trick or treating, things like that encourage fear so we are going to be focussing on Jesus being the light around that time and how He comes to conquer fear and to bring light into the darkness.”

He went on: “We want boys and girls to come along, have fun and enjoy being with one another but also to learn about the very important message that Jesus is the light. The night is about encouraging young people to be that light in the different situations that they are going to face. It’s going to be a fun and very worthwhile night from which they will take home a very important message”, Colin added.

Jesus is the Bible’s greatest hero and all the children are welcome to come in fancy dress as their own favourite hero from the movies, comic books, Disney or whatever.

Their parents are also welcome to come on the night for a cup of tea or coffee and to have a chat to some of the members of West Church.

Children can turn up on the night and are welcome from 6.45pm onwards. Alternatively, they can get registration forms by contacting Myra at the West Church Office 028 2564 8327. (9am-1pm.)
