He explained: "I am advised that the Western Health and Social Care Trust (the Trust) has an annual block contract with the Directorate of Legal Services which covers all aspects of legal services sought by the Trust.

"The hours used to provide legal advice in this case have been drawn from this block. It is not possible to separate out the specific cost for this case.

"I am also advised that, in addition, the Trust secured legal advice from Senior Counsel and the cost of this will be in the region of 4,000."
