Senior Educationalist visits St. Anne's Primary School

STAFF and children are celebrating success in St. Anne's following a recent inspection by DENI.

Mr Terry Murphy who is the CCMS Senior Educational Advisor visited the school on Tuesday 14th September to congratulate all the Staff and Pupils.

The inspection process was summarized in the concluding paragraphy as follows: ‘The strengths of the school include:

* the very good quality of the provision in literacy and numeracy and the standards achieved by the children by the end of KS2;

* the exemplary behaviour of the children who demonstrate high levels of motivation and the ability to learn collaboratively;

* the quality of the teaching observed during the inspection, most of which was very good;

* the outstanding quality of the pastoral care and the links established within the community to enhance learning;

* the outstanding leadership of the Principal, supported by committed teachers who provide very good co-ordination of key areas of the curriculum;

* the outstanding culture of self-evaluation throughout the school and associated action to promote improvement.’

Mrs Mc Keown, Principal would like to thank Mr Terry Murphy for taking the time out of his busy schedule to visit the school. She would also like to thank the teachers, pupils and everyone who is involved with St. Anne's for their support to date.
