Seniors show their wisdom at Valentine’s Quiz!

SENIOR citizens from throughout the borough and beyond came together in All Saints Parish Centre on February 14 for a cross-community table quiz jointly organised by Dunclug Partnership and Good Morning Ballymena.

Over 65 persons attended which allowed 14 tables to participate in quiz.

With more than 65 participants from Ballykeel, Ballee, Harryville, Dunclug, Cullybackey and even as far away as Randalstown, the event involved 14 tables of quizzers.

Each one was treated to a box of chocolates and there were 10 special prizes of a meat voucher from Magills Meats.

The winning table of five each received a £20 voucher for use in Tescos.

And after the quiz the participants were treated to a beautiful midday buffet lunch managed by catering staff of All Saints Parish Centre.

Project manager of the Dunclug Partnership Colum Best thanked Anna Boyd from Good Morning Ballymena for a joint effort in the funding for the morning.

Thanks were also extended to Marleen McClelland of Dunclug Partnership and Suzan Harvey from Threshold for their hard work on the administration of the event.

Colum added: “The morning was a fantastic success and builds on the good community relations that exist within the Borough of Ballymena.

“On leaving, everyone stated how much they had enjoyed the morning and wanted to know could it be repeated as it was such a success”.

The joint organisers have extended special thanks to Awards For All Big Lottery for funding the Quiz.
