Serious accident in Lurgan

It is understood there was a collision with a lorry in North St.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said it responded to a call just after 7pm.

A spokesperson said that a female patient had sustained ‘very serious injuries’.

“The NI Ambulance Service attended the scene but no one was transported to hospital,” said a spokesperson.

However it is understood that people present at the scene said the woman was ‘beyond help’.

Witnesses said a pedestrian had been in collision with a lorry.

The PSNI have said: “North Street is closed due to a serious road traffic collision.

“Diversions are via Kilmaine Street, or Wellington Street.”
