Seven dog attackson people

SEVEN people were attacked by dogs in Londonderry in August with one animal also attacked, according to Derry City Council’s latest dog control report.

There were 20 stray dog complaints, 13 instances of dog fouling, 23 stray dogs impounded and 10 dogs reclaimed during the month.

Ten dogs were unwanted, 17 were sold or rehomed, whilst 12 fixed penalty notices were served and 14 neutering vouchers issued.

Dog control classed 36 incidents as ‘other’ which includes inspecting licence, unburied carcase, returning dog to owner, kennel duties, collecting injured dog, dangerous dog etc.
