Seven-year-old girl bravely donates her hair to Little Princess Trust
Pond Park pupil Aaliyah was determined to donate her hair to Little Princess Trust after learning about the charity on TV.
The Trust uses donated hair to create wigs for children affected by cancer and last Thursday the inspirational youngster got her hair cut off at Bow Lane Hairdressing in Lisburn.

Laura said: “Aaliyah has wanted to donate her hair for over a year now. Last year she saw something about the Little Princess Trust on TV and asked me about it.
“I explained what it was, then it was all she talked about. She said “Mummy I have loads of hair that I don’t need and I could give to some other little girl that has lost all theirs.”
“I thought at that age she was too young, or she would regret it, or she would grow out of the idea - but she hasn’t.

It won’t be just Aaliyah’s hair being donated, the inspirational youngster has raised over £150 for the charity.
Donation boxes were placed in Bow Lane and Claire McKinney Beauty and Aaliyah also had a sponsorship form.
Laura added: “She is so loving, caring and giving and I was not surprised to hear from her that she wanted to do some fund raising.
“I’m am so proud of her, she is just a little star that shines so bright in everything she does and everywhere she goes.”
