Sevenoaks showcases itself to the public

Deputy Mayor Alderman Thomas Kerrigan and Gary Middleton popped into the Sevenoaks Care Home, Crescent Link, for its recent open day to showcase the facility to the local community.

Mrs Toni Strawbridge, Registered Manager at Seven Oaks said: “The Open Day was all about showing people what excellent care homes, such as Sevenoaks, are really about and how we can be at the centre of local communities, developing relationships across the generations.

She added: “This important connection is something that the team at Sevenoaks has nurtured since opening in June 2001.

“The scheme already acts as a community hub, hosting summer and winter songs programmes, a Body Wisdom Project and holding Tai Chi classes. We also facilitate placements for Health and Social care students and information visits for local and overseas nursing students.

“As part of the Care Home Open day 2015, Sevenoaks hosted arts and crafts and pamper sessions, cake decoration activities and a vintage tea party.

“Everyone who dropped in received the usual warm welcome, met staff and residents, saw the excellent facilities and service on offer and heard first hand what we are all about at Seven Oaks.

“We were delighted to welcome family, friends, and elected representatives, Deputy Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District, Alderman Thomas Kerrigan and Gary Middleton MLA.”
