SF councillor condemns 'intimidation'

SINN Féin Cllr Anita Cavlan has condemned what turned out to be a hoax threat about a bomb at her home last Wednesday and at Dunloy Chapel as a "cowardly act made in a futile attempt to intimidate her the residents of Dunloy".

She was speaking after what she said was a series of telephone warnings made to the local Sinn Fin office in Dunloy and to the Ballymoney Council Offices.

In one call she said the caller said that staff in the Sinn Fin office would be shot.

"These threats have no place in our society and certainly will not deter myself or the staff in the Sinn Fin offices from the sterling work they do on behalf of all of the constituents in this borough," she said.

Police confirmed Dunloy was at the centre of what turned out to be a hoax call about a bomb and after a check nothing was found.
