Shared history peace trip for young people

Larne Borough Council has joined forces with the International School for Peace Studies to deliver a shared history learning programme to a cross community delegation from Carnlough and Glenarm.

Part of the Larne Community Cohesion Project, the Messines Experience saw a group of 16 participants, accompanied by Mary O’Boyle, community cohesion officer, travel to France and Belgium on a four-day study visit to learn more about the sacrifice made by the many thousands of soldiers from the island of Ireland and elsewhere during the First World War.
