Sheriff Davy is roundin’ up a charity posse!

HOLD on to your hats...there’s a new sheriff in town!

Coleraine’s Caring Caretaker Davy Boyle - sporting his new ten gallon hat - is rounding up the good folk of Coleraine to take part in his annual sponsored walk from the Town Hall to Castlerock.

Taking place on Saturday, September 8, Davy is hoping to lasso a few more varmits before then.

So far this year, Davy has raised £12,000 for his chosen charities - Chest, Heart and Stroke, Ulster Cancer Foundation, NI Children to Lapland Trust, Defibrillator at the Heart of Every Game, Community Rescue Service, Spina Bifida, Friends of Willowbrook, Blind Centre and Callum’s Chance of Sight.

Davy has set himself a target of £52,000 for the year...so he needs your help!

Sponsorship forms are available from Davy at the Town Hall, or you can pay a £10 admission fee on the day.

Davy told The Times: “I would encourage friends old and new to come along and take part in the walk.

“We have changed the route this year, so I hope more people will come along.

“Crusoe’s Coffee Shop in Castlerock have very generously said they will provide refreshments for the walkers in Castlerock, and if you don’t want to do the return walk, the Blind Centre are providing a minibus to ferry people back to Coleraine.”

Davy has plenty of other fundraisers organised for the months ahead.

Next month the Railway Arms will host his annual Table Quiz and in November a concert for Davy’s charities will be held at Coleraine High School.

Later that month Davy will host his annual breakfast at the Lodge Hotel. Watch this space and we’ll bring you more details soon.
