Shirley murder probe: ‘Time specific’ appeal issued

Detectives from Serious Crime Branch investigating the murder of 69-year-old Matthew Shirley in the Drumtara area of Ballymena on the afternoon of Tuesday 28 April have issued a specific appeal for information.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan Dickson would appeal to anyone who may have seen Matthew between 9.00am on Monday 27 April and 5.00pm on Tuesday, 28 April to contact Detectives on the non-emergency number 101.

Or, alternatively information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Detectives have been granted additional time by a court to interview two men aged 41 and 49 and a woman aged 47.
