Shock at sudden passing

Police attended the report of the sudden death of a 21-year-old man in the Mourneview Avenue area of Lurgan on Friday.

The deceased was Ryan Girvan, son of Keith and Fiona Girvan, Glenavon Crescent, Lurgan. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

His funeral service will take place in Lurgan Church of the Nazarene, Mourne Road, tomorrow (Friday) at 12 noon followed by interment in Lurgan Cemetery.

Ryan was described as a very popular young man.

DUP Councillor Carla Lockhart summed up the feelings of many: “When you hear of a young person’s death it really does rock a community to the core.

“My thoughts are with the Girvan family, the wider family circle and all of the young people who have been affected by this tragedy. Such a sad situation. No words I can say will comfort a mourning family but I will be praying for them in this their hour of need.”
