It is a pop-up craft shop and art gallery and it has opened its doors on Pump Street with the specific aim of celebrating the work of the creative industries in 2013.

It came into existence when local architect, Shane Bernie, teamed up with creative business entrepreneurs and artists from the city to launch ‘Made In City’.

‘Maid In City’ is designed as a temporary, non-profit, pop-up shop and gallery. Located at 6 to 8 Pump Street, the shop will be open for the summer months as a display and selling space for the best work by local artists, photographers, designers and artisans. ‘Made In City’ will also be an information point for all culture and creative events taking place during the City of Culture, selling products by Doc Pot, Mojo designs, Paisley Lane, Little House, Primrose, Lydia Thomas, Fluffy Marshmallow, Arroo as well as art work by local artist Bridget Murray.

“I didn’t want to let the City of Culture year pass by without doing something productive for the city and those involved in the creative industries,” said Shane.

Made in City will be open Monday to Friday, between 9am to 5pm, from June until August 2013.
