Shore Road theft: Police appealing for information

Police are investigating a theft which occurred at a bus stop on the Shore Road on Thursday (June 9).

The Times understands that a male, who was waiting at a bus stop opposite PureGym, had his LG phone stolen out of his hand by two men. The incident took place at approximately 3:45pm.

Both male perpetrators were described as being aged in their late twenties, 6ft tall and were of slim build. One had dark cropped hair and was wearing jeans and a dark jacket. The other man had light coloured short hair and was wearing a green coloured football top. Both males ran off in the direction of Mount Street.

A police spokesperson said: “Anyone who has any information that could assist with the investigation should contact Newtownabbey Police Station on the non-emergency number 101. Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Please quote reference number: 953 of 9/6/16.”
