Shot cat could lose leg - PSNI

Police are appealing for information after a cat was shot in the Ballymena area.

The incident of animal cruelty, reported to police last week, could result in the pet losing one of its hind legs.

According to police, the cat left its home in the Oldpark Avenue area of the town on Wednesday, July 22, returning with injuries to its hind legs on Monday, July 27.

The police spokesperson said a vet has since confirmed that the injuries have been caused by a shotgun and it may result in the cat losing one of his hind legs.

Constable Finlay said: “I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact the Neighbourhood Policing Team in Ballymena Police Station on the non emergency number 101.”
