Shots fired at empty car in Dungiven

Police say shots were fired at an empty parked car in Dungiven at approximately 10.10pm in the Hass Park area.

A man wearing a hooded top fired two shots at the car. It is believed the man left the area in another car that was parked nearby.

Cllr Coyle, who lives in Dungiven, said: “This was a completely reckless attack in a quiet residential area, and it is extremely worrying for people who live there, and indeed everyone in the area.

“Thankfully, no one was injured in this madness. Whoever is behind the attack must realise they have absolutely nothing to offer society and there can be no justification whatsoever for what happened.

“I appeal to anyone who knows anything about the incident to contact police.”
