Shouted racist abuse in Gilford

Police in Banbridge are appealing for information following an incident in Gilford.

Constable Rob Ainscough explained: “Around 12.24am on Monday, 21 December, a man entered takeaway premises on Dunbarton Street. He damaged a cctv camera and was verbally abusive to staff, using language of a racist nature. The man left the area in a red Audi car.

“The man is described as being around 6ft tall with short, black hair and a swarthy complexion. He was wearing a sleeveless jacket and blue jeans.

“This incident is being treated as a hate crime and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or has information in relation to it. We can be contact in Banbridge on 101, quoting ref: 39211214.”
