Two alternative bus stops have been designated by Translink - at the State Cinema for those using the 324A Dunclug or 324D Carniny routes and at George Street for the 324C Galgorm route - which will operate services as per the Local Timetable from Thursday, August 27.

In response to a query from The Ballymena Times about the changes and their potential impact on passengers using the town bus service, many of whom are elderly, a Translink spokeperson said: “Due to public realm works taking place in Ballymena, the bus stops located in Broughshane Street and Wellington Street, have been temporarily relocated to the ‘Pentagon’.

“In order to facilitate passengers, we will be operating a shuttle minibus between the temporary stop and Wellington Street, for the duration of the works.

“When we were made aware of these works we placed information posters on our buses behind drivers, at the bus stops affected and in Ballymena bus station.”
