Sign up for Ardowen summer scheme

Fiona's Thompson's Summer Academy of Drama and Dance will be running at the start of August for children aged from five years to 14 years old and includes drama and hip hop with an exclusive performance on the final day.

This scheme will run on Monday, August 2, from 10.30am to 1pm, Tuesday, August 3, from 1pm to 3.30pm and Wednesday, August 4, from 10.30am to 1pm with the performance at 1.15pm.

The cost will be 17.50 per child or 16 concession rate for each child from the same family. To register or for information contact Fiona on 07955 736 929.

Young budding artists can develop their creativity through the Summer Art Workshops. Open to children aged from five to 13, young people can look forward to a variety of inspirational arts and crafts.

This scheme takes place from Wednesday to Friday, August 18-20, from 10.30am to12.30pm and costs 6 for all three sessions.

Finally, the council’s playscheme will be running its annual summer scheme for two weeks from Monday to Friday, August 9-20, for children aged from five to 13.

The scheme offers a variety of activities and trips and lots of fun. To register or for more information contact Donna on 3831 6389 or the senior playleader on 834 1115.

“These are three exciting summer schemes that we know will be in popular demand,” said Donna McConville, manager of Ardowen Community Centre.

“Places are limited and we have no doubt the classes will fill up fast and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. We look forward to welcoming young people to the centre for a few weeks of summer fun.”

For all classes to start minimum numbers are required to register.
