'˜Significant' amount of cocaine and cannabis found in Antrim house raid

Police in Antrim have recovered a significant quantity of cocaine and cannabis following the search of a house in the town

Chief Inspector Arthur Davidson said: “Officers from the District Support Team were attending a road traffic collision at Nutts Corner and subsequently found tablets in the one of the cars.

“A follow up search of the car owner’s address took place and officers seized suspected cocaine and cannabis worth an estimated £24,000, scales, bags, mobile phones, and other drug related equipment. A 36 year old man was arrested and released on bail pending further enquiries.”

The Chief Inspector said it was vital that local people played their part in the battle against criminality by providing information.

“Taking drugs out of circulation in our communities remains a priority and we will continue to take every opportunity to seize illegal and dangerous substances and arrest those involved in the sale and supply. As always we are grateful for the support of the community and would urge you to continue to report any information about drug dealing or any other criminal behaviour in your area.”
