Silver bands set to perform in the historic village of Scarva in June

Band concert season will continue in Scarva this June, with the delightful tones of Dungannon Silver Band.

Running from 3pm to 4pm each Sunday afternoon from April until September, it features the finest in local concert bands.

So why not come along and enjoy a relaxing Sunday afternoon at the band concert at the magnificent Victorian bandstand on Scarva Green, set amidst the tranquil setting of award winning Scarva village, renowned for its superb floral displays. The visitor centre will be open to find out more about the unique archaeology of the area, and has adjoining Tearooms, with Scarva Park and Newry Canal Towpath perfect for a stroll.

The concerts are organised by the South West Down Bands Association and supported by Banbridge District Council. The bands performing in June will be: Dungannon Silver Band on Sunday June 1, Warrenpoint Silver Band on Sunday June 8, Poyntzpass Silver Band on Sunday June 15, St Mark’s Silver Band on Sunday June 22 and Rathfriland Silver Band on Sunday June 29.
