Silver medal for Andrew

PLASTERING apprentice Andrew Gill has picked up a silver medal at the high profile SkillBuild competition national final at Preston College.

Andrew, from Saintfield, studies at the Lisburn Campus of South Eastern Regional College.

The country’s finest construction trainees battled it out at the intense three-day final of the UK’s biggest construction skills competition; more than 100 gifted young people competed in their respective trades in order to be named UK’s most talented trainee.

When the results were announced Andrew celebrated winning a silver medal, beaten by just two marks in his category. Andrew was supported by SERC Plastering tutor Malachy Noade and employer William Gill Plastering Ltd.
