Simon Dickey Memorial Concert at First Lisburn

A CONCERT in memory of Simon Dickey will be held in First Lisburn Presbyterian Church on Thursday February 18 at 7.45pm.

The event, organised by First Lisburn’s Director of Music, Tom Whyte, who will be the accompanist on the evening, will feature Garvey Silver Band with guest conductor Iain Dickey (Liverpool), Joanna Higgins (Soprano) and the BB Centenary Choir conducted by Yvette Anderson.

The late Simon Dickey was a member of Garvey Silver Band. He died in 2003 at the age of 21, as the result of a car accident and being an organ donor, his untimely death helped save others.

Simon was a keen supporter of the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB NI) and on several occasions played with the band at Eglantine Parish Church.

It is most appropriate that proceeds from the concert will be donated to RNIB NI and also to Eglantine Parish Church to help finance a new roof in this little church which Simon loved so much.
