Simpson gets set for festive sit-out

UPPER Bann MP David Simpson is preparing for this year’s annual Christmas sit-out.

Speaking ahead of the annual event which this year will be in aid of Ceara School Mr Simpson said: “Every year the people of Lurgan have given tremendous support to this event. It is a great opportunity for me to meet with local people, and is also an occasion when local people have shown once again just why the people of Upper Bann are among the warmest and most generous in Northern Ireland.

“Last year the sit-out took place during the long period of extreme weather and was by far the coldest of any year so far. But despite this, once again the people of Lurgan showed their generosity and warmth of character. I have no doubt that despite the difficult economic situation we are facing at the present time, this year will be no different.
