Sisters' charity towpath walk

TWO sisters are planning to raise money for a local charity by doing a sponsored walk along the Lagan towpath.

Liz Reeves and Dawna Dunlop are both members of N.I.P.R.A. (Northern Ireland Paranormal Research Association) and hope to start the walk this Friday from 10am in Belfast. The walk is one of two fund raising events the girls will be doing.

The money raised will go towards a memorial fund for Cancer Research. Liz explained: "N.I.P.R.A uses Richill Castle on a regular basis and the owner Gordon Little sadly passed away before Christmas so the group decided it would like to raise funds for a memorial fund in Gordon's name and all family and friends who have lost their lives to cancer.

"There is just Dawna and myself doing the walk - 11 miles in total along the towpath and we' re hoping that the regular walkers along the path will be very generous and give us any spare change that they have on them that day and even cheer us on if they see us. We won't be hard to miss as we're dressing up - pink tutus and wigs.

"There are two parts to the fundraiser with the second being an over night stay in Richill Castle on April 24. Places are still available if any one wishes to go. The price is 60 per person, and they can get all the information from the N.I.P.R.A web site."
