There were 17 instances of dog fouling; 50 dogs were impounded; 17 dogs were reclaimed; 25 dogs were deemed unwanted; 31 dogs were either sold or rehomed and 26 dogs were put down. Fourteen negligent dog owners were fined over the two months whilst 24 neutering vouchers were issued.

The officer explained: “Please note that the figure for stray dogs impounded is greater than stray dog complaints as the Dog Wardens periodically patrol areas where there are reported problems with dog straying and fouling.”
