Six month ban for no driving licence

AN Articlave man has been disqualified from driving for six months and fined £350 following an incident in Portrush last year.

North Antrim Magistrates' Court heard that Justin Mervyn Samuel Purcell (21) of Ardina Road was stopped by police at Lansdowne Crescent.

He was asked to produce his licence and insurance but was unable to do so. He elected to produce the documents at Coleraine Police Station but failed to do so.

District Judge, Richard Wilson, fined Purcell, who was not present in court, 350 for having no licence or insurance and requested that he return on June 23 to answer a charge of failing to produce.
